Far be it for me to be an alarmist and dispair-about-the-state-of-the-worldist, but I found this article from the economist very interesting. The end of cheap food.
And the political statement of the day*:
Surprise surprise, John Key and Helen Clark both said in their speeches they want to educate the youth more. Helen Clark says John Key's speech lacks ambition. Does that mean Helen Clark's also lacks ambition? YES, OF COURSE IT DOES. SO THATS WHY WE SHOULDN'T VOTE FOR LABOUR.

Ok, I'm convinced. I won't vote Labour... or Labor either.
Yeah sorry Alexis, but this is election year for us as well, so no doubt this will be a tedious time for NZers and Americans both. Interesting, in Australia it is Labor as well. Hmmm, I wonder why. Maybe Australians want to be more like Americans.
Thanks heaps Jono. In case you weren't aware, the State Services Commission (SSC - or SS for short) has recently developed a new code of Conduct and Integrity for State servants (such as myself). Under the old code, a State servant simply had to be politicaly neutral, fair, and honest in their work. Under this new code, a State servant must show loyalty to the Regime of the day.
"Long Live Comrade Helen!"
I am now in BIG trouble at work for viewing your blog with it's blatant anti-Labour bias. My manager is furious with me. I am probably going to lose my job because of YOUR political beliefs - Thanks for nothing, mate...
...actually, I wonder if my manager is upset because I keep on reading your blog during work hours...
